Clarity Surpasses Goals with Continued Growth
September 1, 2014

Leading healthcare plan communications provider grows 106 percent

Madison, CT (September 1, 2014) – Clarity Software Solutions, Inc., leading healthcare plan communications provider recently reported positive growth for 2013 and 2014 to date. The company closed out 2013 with a 63 percent increase in revenue over the previous year and has shown continued success in 2014. To date, an increase of 106 percent from the same time last year has been reported. Clarity launched 2 new products this year including an EOB application to comply with the requirements set forth by the Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and an e-delivery portal, designed to be integrated with a health plan’s member-facing web portal. To manage the ever growing workload, they have continued to expand the internal team, adding 34 new team members in 2014 alone.

“We continue to evolve as an organization by expanding our internal team and our product assortment,” said Steve Mongelli, Chief Revenue Officer, Clarity Software Solutions. “Clarity strives to create products that adapt to changes within the healthcare industry. Our main goal is to ensure that we’re always providing the highest quality customer service and product assortment to our clients.”

The EOB application, which launched in May, was created to ensure compliance with the recent changes to Medicare Advantage plans. Clarity has designed the EOB application to support delivery by claim, monthly or quarterly, which will ensure that all MAOs have the correct tools to stay compliant. Each EOB can be tracked post production with the ability to display each mailed piece, view the distribution date and the content details. In addition, Clarity can also integrate support for commercial plans within the same application, allowing a health plan to manage all EOB communication from a single source.

“Innovation is in Clarity’s DNA. As the healthcare industry evolves, we have to do the same to ensure that our clients have all the tools they need to be successful,” said Mongelli. “We will continue to be innovative and stay ahead of the curve.”

The e-delivery portal gives members access to all of their healthcare documents, including their membership ID cards. It was created as a tool for healthcare providers that do not have access to their own member-facing web portal or to supplement an existing web portal with a single sign on and consistent look and feel. It allows them communicate important healthcare documents with their customers. The e-delivery portal enables users to brand their communications and customize specific member information within each piece.

This year alone, Clarity has already brought on 34 new team members, in addition to the 20 brought on in 2013. The growth of the team in last year resulted in a 43 percent increase in staffing over 2012. Within less than 2 years, Clarity has added 54 talented individuals to their organization.

“It’s exciting to continue to bring on talented people that support our core business objectives and have a passion for technology,” said Dan Schlaff, Chief Operating Officer, Clarity Software Solutions. “We look for candidates that are committed to providing exceptional customer service and thrive in a rapidly growing company.”

Clarity Named to Inc. 5000 List of Fastest-Growing Companies for Third Consecutive Year
August 25, 2014

Ranked no. 1079 with three-year sales growth of 414 percent

Madison, CT (August 25, 2014) – Clarity Software Solutions, Inc., a leading healthcare plan communications provider, was named to the 2014 Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies for the third consecutive year. The company received a ranking of 1079 with three-year sales growth of 414 percent. Clarity continues to demonstrate positive growth and shares this elite recognition with other industry leaders that gained early exposure on the list such as Yelp, LinkedIn and Zillow.

“It’s an honor to rank on the Inc. 5000 list for the third consecutive year,” said Sean Rotermund, President, Clarity Software Solutions, Inc. “Our continued recognition is a testament of our teams’ dedication, not only to Clarity, but to our clients. We could not be successful without our growing client base. We recognize that without them, success would not be possible and we plan to continue on this path, exceeding our goals in years to come.”

The average company on the list achieved an astonishing three-year growth of 516 percent. The aggregate revenue of those on the Inc. 5000 list is $211 billion and those same companies have generated 505,000 jobs over the past three years.

"What surprises me, even though I know it’s coming, is the sheer variety of the paths our entrepreneurs take to success, thematically reflecting how our economy has evolved,” says Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. “This year there are far more social media and far fewer computer hardware businesses than there were, say, six years ago. But what doesn’t change is the fearsome creativity unleashed by American entrepreneurship.”

Methodology
The 2014 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2010 to 2013. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2010. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent--not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies--as of December 31, 2013. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2010 is $100,000; the minimum for 2013 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.'s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at www.inc.com/5000.

Clarity Announces the Launch of Evidence of Benefits Application
April 1, 2014

Ensuring compliance for Medicare Advantage Organizations

Madison, CT (April 1, 2014) – Clarity Software Solutions, Inc., leading healthcare plan communications provider announced the launch of an Evidence of Benefits (EOB) application created specifically for Medicare Advantage Organizations (MAOs). Designed based on requirements of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the new EOB product will ensure compliance for all clients that service those insured through Medicare Advantage plans. Launched in May, this product has provided Clarity’s client’s with confidence that they are receiving materials that are complaint with all standards set within the healthcare industry.

“Compliance is a priority at Clarity,” said Dan Schlaff, Chief Operating Officer, Clarity Software Solutions. “Within the healthcare industry, it’s extremely important to be knowledgeable of upcoming changes and immediately apply them to our offerings. If we don’t currently have a solution, we have the talented professionals at Clarity that can make it happen.”

Changes set forth for Medicare Advantage EOBs required Clarity to review its current offering and ensure it was compliant with the new standard. Per the changes set forth by CMS, MAOs are required to send EOBs either monthly or on a per claim basis with quarterly summary statements. To comply with this requirement, Clarity has designed the EOB application to support delivery by claim, monthly or quarterly, which will ensure that all MAOs have the correct tools to stay compliant.

The purpose of the Medicare Advantage EOB application was to create a “one-stop-shop” where clients could manage all that goes into creating and distributing an EOB while staying within the requirements set forth by the CMS. Each EOB can be tracked post production with the ability to display each mailed piece, view the distribution date and the content details. In addition, Clarity can also integrate support for commercial plans within the same application, allowing a health plan to manage all EOB communication from a single source.

“Simplicity is important to our clients,” said Glenn Morin, Chief Product Officer, Clarity Software Solutions. “They want to make the process as easy as possible for their customers. This user friendly EOB allows our clients to remain complaint and provides their customers with a product that’s easy to navigate.”

The list is made up of 35 companies split into two categories: 20 small/medium-sized companies (15-199 US employees) and 15 large-sized companies (200 or more US employees). Clarity Featured in Forbes: Software Services Provider for Health Insurers Among Fastest-Growing Private Companies

Madison, CT (September 30, 2013) – None of Clarity Software Solutions' clients were surprised to find the company near the top of Inc. magazine's exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies for 2012. The expanding list of national and regional health insurance companies had already given Clarity a solid "thumbs up," with 100 percent saying they would recommend the document management and distribution services provider to others. A remarkable 2,813.4 percent growth rate over the past three years placed Clarity in the #107 spot on the Inc. 500|5000 (#4 in the Business Products and Services industry segment and #3 in Connecticut). In 2012 alone, the company added more than a dozen commercial, Medicare and Medicaid insurance companies of all sizes, bringing its clientele to over 80. In the same year, over 35 percent of existing clients extended their partnership with Clarity by adding new product solutions as their communication needs increased. Adding resources and staff, Clarity recently relocated to a new, state-of-the-art facility in Madison, Connecticut.

"Our growth is a testament to our ability to deliver on the promise of cutting-edge technology and world-class service," says Clarity President and CEO Sean Rotermund.

Rotermund founded Clarity in 2007 to fill a need for on-demand document management, composition and communications delivery to insurance providers. "Few industries are as communication-dependent as health insurance," he says. "We get that. We make it easy for health plans to create customized pre-sales materials and enrollment kits to drive participation and revenue. We greatly reduce the administrative burden of producing various post-sales documents such as ID cards, EOCs, SBCs, EOBs and more."

"It's been quite refreshing to work with a vendor that continues to be innovative with product/service offerings, while keeping up with all the industry standards and requirements. It's nice to know that we are just as important to your business after a few years as we were when we first came onboard!" –Clarity client

Clarity is valued by clients as a trusted partner. Its solutions eliminate the need to build and operate costly in-house systems by providing a single, hassle-free touchpoint for generating custom documents that ensure compliance with the still-fluid healthcare regulations. Clarity's SBC Solution Experiences Rapid Adoption

Clarity's SBC Solution Experiences Rapid Adoption

Madison, CT. (January 1, 2013) - During 2012, Clarity Software Solutions, Inc. (Clarity) announced a SBC solution in response to the Affordable Care Act requirement that mandates the creation of a uniform summary of benefits and coverage. Clarity is the cutting edge provider of on demand services supporting customized communications for the healthcare industry. Clarity earned this reputation through game-changing technology innovations and a relentless focus on customer service.

Under section 2715 of the Public Health Service Act, created by section 1001 of the Affordable Care Act and implemented in the new rules, health insurers and group health plans have to provide uniform information about health plan benefits and coverage through a Summary of Benefits and Coverage (“SBC”) and a list of definitions (called the “Uniform Glossary”) that explains terms commonly used in health insurance coverage such as “deductible” and “co-payment”.

Upon unveiling the new solution to the market place, Clarity was contracted to implement over a dozen simultaneous programs all requiring a go-live date of September 23, 2012. Clarity’s project management and technical departments were up to the task as each program successfully met the compliance requirements and date.  Achieving the complicated deliverable confirmed the true scalability of Clarity’s architecture based on configuring applications, rather than custom coding them for each client.

Clarity incorporates the uniform SBC template and integrates client’s system data to create the necessary plan specific designs required by pre and post-enrollees. The web application easily allows your health plan staff to create design changes on the fly to meet timely multichannel distribution requirements for sales, renewals, plan changes or on demand member requests.

"We have prided ourselves on being able to recognize market conditions, evaluate the needs of the industry and ensure we provide timely, future-focused solutions for our clients. The launch of our SBC solution underscores our commitment to those goals." said Sean Rotermund, CEO and President of Clarity. “The adoption of the SBC solution by both existing Clarity clients as well as new ones is exciting validation of Clarity helping health plans meet the challenges of health care reform.”

The Clarity Solution keeps health plans compliant and reduces the administrative burden of building systems internally and allows them to focus on the business of providing healthcare. Clarity's product offerings include: SBCs, ID cards, Integrated and Variable Kitted Products, Personalized Correspondence (EOBs, Letters, Statements), and Electronic Delivery of Communications (to web and mobile).
