Java Developer

Discipline: Information Technology

Location: Guilford, CT Position

Position Description: A rapidly growing software company is in need of a Java Developer to join their Systems Team due to growth/promotion. The team is responsible for the development and support of applications whose key functions include content management, large scale print, e-delivery, and smartphone support.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, Develop and Test enhancements to the existing content management portal.

• Implement clients using existing platform.

• Produce effective technical documentation where needed.

Mandatory requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in software development, including at least 2 years of working with java/j2ee.

• Implement clients using existing platform.

• Familiarity with distributed enterprise applications (systems that span several physical machines).

• Proficiency in MySQL/Apache/Tomcat.

Preferred Requirements:

• Knowledge of a large scale printing technologies (PDF, PPML).

• Knowledge of smart phone platforms (IOS, Android).

• Experience working on small and fast paced software teams.

Skills & Characteristics:

• Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.

• Ability to learn new concepts, systems, and software independently and quickly.

• Self-starter, able to work as part of a small team as well as independently, with minimal supervision.

Client Relationship Specialist

The Client Services team at Clarity has the important responsibility providing excellence in customer service. Our clients are valuable and we require all team members at Clarity go above and beyond for client satisfaction. We are proud of our history with our clients and our future growth depends on continued excellence in this area.

The Client Services team works closely with our Business Analysts and IT teams to guarantee the best possible experience with the Clarity product and service. The CRS is the key contact with the day-to-day management of Clarity's client's business needs.

The job responsibilities include:

• Providing client relationship services to new accounts which includes the development and execution of program user training and escalation procedures

• Establishing contact documentation

• Document and resolve all open client issues

• Manage capacity planning

• Own and manage new Clarity initiatives, which may include interface with IT

• Account research as needed

• Organize and manage meetings

• Schedule retraining of client's new personnel, as needed

• Communicate significant changes in software applications to client contact(s)

Best skills will include:

• Strong competency in organizational methods

• Excellence in communication skills, with particular strengths in telephone presence and written communication with client (ie: e-mail etiquette)

• Confidence with presentations preparation and delivery

• Exercise discretion and independent judgment with significant client issues

• Experience with client service web tools and interface is a plus

Computer skills:

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Some experience with Quark Xpress and Adobe Suite (InDesign) is a plus


Quality Assurance Analyst

The Quality Assurance team at Clarity has the important responsibility of ensuring excellence in the quality and reliability of its products, and utilizing a systematic testing approach designed to guarantee established requirements through our product's lifecycle.

The QA team works closely with all Clarity departments to guarantee the best possible experience with the Clarity products and services.

The job responsibilities include:

• Conduct system integration, regression and performance testing in support of all products (i.e. ID cards, booklets, letters) for new client implementations as well as internal system development efforts

• Support client User Acceptance Testing

• Participate in business requirements 'walk-throughs' and provide critical feedback to ensure accurate product specifications

• Develop test scripts using the Clarity QA Process and Procedures. Validate that the development code is completed to business specifications with a level of quality acceptable to the internal users and the client

• Execute client test files for the various testing processes

• Review and track client identified defects and resolve open issues using a standard bug tracking tool

• Provide timely testing support for production issues

• Examine code after software developer releases for critical feedback

• Collaborate with other departments during client implementation phase

Required skills include:

• Knowledge of quality assurance and control methods

• Knowledge of pertinent product characteristics and applicable production maintenance

• Knowledge of inspection, test and measurement techniques

• Experience with conducting studies and investigations, problem analysis, and developing logical and documented recommendations

• Excellent written and oral communications

Additional Technical Skills, considered favorable combined with above:
